Look up the number of pennant games played by players in Vic Metro for seasons 19/20, 20/21 and 21/22 and all Vic country pennant competitions for 21/22. The search for players can be based on the region, club or parts of a player's name. Entirely free to use.
There is a search function in BowlsLink which is confusing to use and not particularly good. Bowlsup provides an interface to this which makes it much better to use. Free.
BowlsLink does a good job of providing results and ladders but can only do so for 1 competition at a time. Navigating to the next competition can be tedious with a lot of clicking involved. Bowlsup Reports fixes this as it allows you to view results and ladders for multiple competitions at once. It also provides this information in a better format as well as providing other reports not available in BowlsLink.
Contains exactly the same information as a ladder viewed directly in BowlsLink except for the colour coding added by Bowlsup.
Contains everything that a player ladder viewed directly in BowlsLink has but with many added extras.
This report shows an abbreviated form of the current ladder with all results and other fixture information in a tabular form. This allows for a quick overview of the performance of all sides in the competition.
A major shortcoming with BowlsLink ladders is that you can only see the ladder for the latest completed round. That is, if looking at competition where all 18 rounds have been played, there is no way to view the ladder as it was for any of the previous rounds 1-17. The ladder by round report rectifies this shortcoming.
Each side is shown with a different coloured background. To the right of the ladder there are rounded boxes with matching coloured backgrounds showing the ladder position with points and shot difference for this and each preceding round. When you put the mouse over the side name (or touch it on a touch device such as a mobile phone) each of the relevant coloured boxes are highlighted to more clearly show the ladder position on each round.
Another good feature of this report is that it uses scores regardless of whether or not they're "official" ie. entered by the homeside but not yet confirmed by the opposing side. This means it can be used as a live ladder before the official ladder is finally updated after all scores have been confirmed.
This lists various statistics for each side:
Below the table of home vs away results is a bar chart showing the number of times each side's results fell within certain winning and losing ranges. Each bar is colour coded to match the background of each side's name. When you put the mouse over the side name (or touch it on a touch device such as a mobile phone) each of the relevant coloured bars are highlighted to more clearly show the pattern or results.
The conditions of play for pennant competitions typically contain rules regarding the eligibility to play finals and others that restrict the interchanging of players between sides prior to finals. Complying with such rules can be tedious as it requires accurate and up-to-date record-keeping by selectors. This report solves these problems by providing such data.
The demo version allows you to run all 6 report types for any pennant competition in Vic Metro for seasons 20/21 and 21/22 and all Vic country pennant competitions for 21/22. Free to use.
The version for individual users allows you to run all report types for any pennant competition where the results are on BowlsLink. This is free until the end of 2022. From 1/1/2023 the cost will be $1 for each competition added. This is a one-off cost - there is no ongoing cost for running reports for competitions already paid for.
The version for club users is the same as that for individuals except that code is generated which allow the report bundles specified to run on a club's website. Instructions are provided for adding the generated code to the club's website.
Some clubs have BowlsLink embedded in their websites, Pakenham Bowls Club for example, but doing so has exactly the same shortcomings as it does when looking at BowlsLink directly. (It's actually worse. Because Pakenham play in Vic Metro, every division has sections. After looking at results for a match, you cannot easily get back to the competition. The browser's back button won't help as it will take you to the previous location within Pakenham's website and the Back to Competition link will take you back to section 1 of the competition. From there you have to click a few more times to get to the right section.) Having Bowlsup report bundles appear on club websites instead is a much better solution. This is free until the end of 2022. From 1/1/2023 the cost will be $5 for each competition.
The distinction between being an individual user or a club user is made when the user registers with Bowlsup Reports. Registration as an individual user requires a valid email address with the account being password protected. Registration as a club user has the additional requirement of providing the URL of the club's website.

Firstly, coming up with a draw that is equally fair for all teams in a tournament can be difficult. This tournament organiser makes the task much easier by evaluating very many different draws to determine the fairest based on constraints you can specify. Such constraints include:
And then when the best draw is found a pdf file of scorecards is produced. But there's more.........
On the day of the tournament all scoring is done online. This means that everyone playing can view updated scores on their phones. Even better, the teams themselves can enter scores via their phones. Much less work for the organisers and no more crowding around the whiteboard checking results. Will (probably) be free.
Mostly just a rant about bowls. Free, although actually priceless.
Real timber honour boards with gold lettering can be wonderful to look at with all the history behind them. But wall space in clubrooms is limited. There will come a time when they're all full with no room to add more honour boards. So inevitably clubs will have to turn to electronic versions. The image generator can help.
It takes the raw data (stored, say, in a spreadsheet) to produce images suitable for display on a TV to form an electronic version of an honour board.
You can specify:
And when you're done you can download a zip file of the created images. Will be free.
Selecting pennant sides requires good record-keeping and accurate, meaningful data to inform selection. Every club needs these selection tools. Packed with features, including:
This won't be free but won't be particularly expensive either.
